Interview with Azuki Ryo sensei about her manga

"Seishun Shiteru Kai!" (lit. Live your youth!)

Q. What kind of girl is Usami Rika chan?

A. She's a cheery, hot-blooded girl who has scary

thoughts when she convinces herself.

Q. We can obviously see that in the first chapter.

Can you tell us about Shishimaru Academy

which is the setting for the story?

A. It's a little different to normal senior high schools.

In this school, you might find there

are fun events to take part in.

Q. This time the main character is surprisingly,

a sixteen-year-old teacher. Do you have any

memories of a teacher in your school days?

A. When I was in the table tennis club, there was

a hot-blooded teacher who slapped me.

(He seriously slapped me!)

Q. Slapping...? (Gosh!) You did live your youth.

It's a change of subjects, but you studied

abroad in Australia didn't you? Do you like

Australia?

A. Australia is a country in my "I want to go there,

Best 3". Rika chan's pet is a kangaroo, but

I want to touch one too!

Q. Within the characters that appear, is there one

who is your type of guy?

A. Not really, but I suppose the principal. He seems

like he has a pretty relaxed working life.

Q. The fact that you said, not really bothers me.

Then what type, for example, do you like among

famous people?

A. Sean Connery sama! He's one of those once in a

hundred years good-looking guy.

Q. I see. Does everybody know? He was a famous actor

in the '007' series when he was younger.

You have a rather old-fashioned taste, Azuki sensei.

Oops, I've gone off the track a little. Sorry. Lastly,

can you tell us about your opinion on the story and a message

for our readers.

A. I wanted to write/draw a fun school life mixing mischiefs

and how a teacher feels. I'd be happy if you just found it funny.
