Interview with Fujii Mihona sensei about her manga "Gals!"

Q. What is Ran chan like?

A. She's just what she looks like, a hot-blooded ko-gal. She's the type that acts before using her head.

Q. Can you introduce us to Ran chan's family?

A. Taizou (father), Kyoka (mother), Yamato (older brother) and Sayo (younger sister). Sayo is a mago-gal (a junior high version of a ko-gal). Look forward to their appearances.

Q. Why did you make Ran's family a police family?

A. For some reason, Fujii's stories involve police a lot. I wonder why?

Q. Is it because you like police drama...?

A. With suspense ones, I like guessing the suspect in the intro!

Q. Maybe your type of guy is someone like a policeman who is the stern type?

A. I do love uniforms. I also like macho types. Guys with pretty eyes, I'll give a miss!

Q. Well enough about police, now onto ko-gals. What do you think of them?

A. I'm interested in them. There are different types of ko-gals so I try not to group them into one type of image.

Q. During your school life, what kind of girl were you?

A. During senior school, I was writing manga so I always had lack of sleep. My teacher thought I was involved in the night life, going to clubs and bars etc. *laughs*

Q. What do you want to write using this story?

A. It's an age of individuals but if you open up the lid, I don't think it really is. I want the gals to prove that just the way I feel it to be without pushing it too much. (Can I do it!?)

Q. Lastly, a message for our readers.

A. Just enjoy and read. Please love Ran even though she's the way she is (begs). Please support me!!
