Interview with Fujita Maguro sensei about her manga "Tinkle
Tiara"
Q. What kind of girl is Rupika chan?
A. A bright, cheery and active girl. She's a silly-billy
who'll do anything for love *laughs*
I hope people can say "But she's cute".
Q. Can you tell us about the planet Rakariina?
A. In this manga, although it's a world of space travel,
it's a planet that doesn't really have develped cultures
and they just go on their way to make carrots. It's a calm
planet. I did mean to have a little bit of a European
country side image....
Q. This new series has space as the setting, but did you
like space or stars when you were young?
A. Yes! Since I live in the country, I grew up watching
brilliant starry skies.
Q. Do you believe in UFO's or aliens?
A. I don't really believe in witness accounts, but I do
believe that they exist. I hope I can meet them one day.
Q. What would you do if you did meet an alien?
A. If they're good people, then I'd be friends with them
of
course! I'd like to have a sleep over at each other's
homes and talk.
Q. If the world does end up like your story and you could
travel in space, where would you go?
A. I would like to go to Pleiades star cluster (in
Japanese,
it is Subaru) and sing (?) 'Subaru'..... Also, there was a
star cluster called "Houseki Bako" (Treasue Box)
that was
pretty so I'd like to go there too.
Q. By the way, in the above illustration there is a
mention of
movies. Do you watch movies a lot? If there are any you'd
recommend, please tell us! (note: in the illustration, she
mentions Star Wars)
A. I don't go to the movie complex that often, but I love
Western
paintings. I love overseas dramas too. They have a high
quality
and I'm moved by them. A movie I'd recommend is a Sci-Fi
comedy, "Coneheads". It was very funny.
Everybody should go
and find the video and watch it!
Q. Rupika chan dreams of meeting her perfect guy. What
type of
person is your perfect guy?
A. Someone who will day dream with me. But someone who is
more
reliable than I am *laughs*
Q. Lastly, a message for our readers.
A. There are rarely any shoujo manga based on space so I
did
it myself thinking of a cute one that would suit girls.
It's a
big job, but I'll try hard so please support me.
