Interview with Shiina Ayumi sensei about her short

story, "Short Sunzen!"

[lit. On The Verge of Blowing Up!]

Q. The best part of this story?

A. Since my debut, it was a story that I spent the least

number of days on...

Q. Is the main character, Airi chan, like you?

A. We are alike. On the outside, she's a "goody two shoes"

and the way she builds up her unhappiness inside (laughs).

Q. What's a story you'd like to write about next?

A. A fantasy or action or sci-fi. There's a lot of stories

I want to write about, but in my mind, my drawing

abilities can't keep up with it so it may never see

the light of day...

A. Favourite/least favourite food?

A. Something I'm crazy about right now is eggplant.

I can cook it, boil it or make pickle it. I don't

dislike sour things, but I'm not too fond of them.

Q. Someone you're interested in now>

A. Takkii and Tsuyoshi (Doumoto) and Snufkin (is that a

person?)

Q. Something that was a shock to you recently?

A. My birthday... It's no longer a happy age. And also

my driver's license renewel. It somehow passed by me.

Q. Something that made you happy recently?

A. It was a little while back, but (at the Ribon Fun

Festival) I got to meet everyone at the signing

get together.

Q. What are you hooked on?

A. A while back, I was hooked on a TV drama called "Jyoi".

It was a drama that made watching worthwhile after a long

time. And finally, I bought myself a PC so I'm planning to

get hooked on that.

Q. A health tip you follow?

A. I don't really have one in particular. I live an extremely

unhealthy lifestyle.

Q. A message for the readers.

A. It's been a while since I wrote a pure short story

instead of a side story or a series so please let me

know what you think.
