Interview with Yoshihara Nozomi sensei about her

short story "Bijin janai to Dame?"

[lit. Do I have to be beautiful?]

Q. What are your thoughts on being able to be on "Ribon"?

A. I'm quite, quite nervous about being on the same magazine

as my admired writers.

Q. What is the best part in this story?

A. Well it's got to be Nobuko's eye brows which are only

one-third as long as normal!

Q. What is your type of guy?

A. Someone who clicks with my humour. And someone with

thin eyes.

Q. Do you think that "people should be judged by their

personality"?

A. Definitely.

Q. How did you think up of this story?

A. I just wanted to draw a heroine who wasn't pretty (laughs)

My friends told me "I want to read stories where the main

character isn't actually beautiful" so I thought why not?

Q. Were there any troubles you had while writing?

A. I always have trouble writing the story. I took a long time

again trying to fix the page layouts.

Q. What kind of stories would you like to write from now on?

A. I want to write a story pretty much with comedy and with

all sorts of genres. I'd also like to write a story where

a boy is the main character.

Q. Lastly, a message for our readers.

A. I'm still very immature, but please support me! I'll try my best!
