Interview with Yuuki Akira sensei about her manga

"Mamono Hunter Leona"

(lit. Beast Hunter Leona)

Q. What kind of girl is Leona?

A. Bubbly. Simple and a bit of a clutz. She hates to lose.

Q. Leona's dream is to be an idol. What is yours?

A. A mangaka who can dance and sing. I used to be

interested in the entertainment industry. Maybe I

still am....

Q. Kooma transforms into a lot of things. How did you

think up of them?

A. I look around and what my eyes stop on is what he

transforms into. I haven't given it much thought.

Q. There were many fighting tricks that appeard. Do you

like martial arts?

A. I've liked martial arts manga. I was brought up with

shonen manga (young boy's manga).

Q. What is your feedback on becoming a mangaka?

A. I was very happy. I was excited, thinking about what

kinds of manga I'd draw/write.

Q. What if you hadn't become a mangaka?

A. A famous talent. I was interesting in becoming a comic

dialogist. I might have become a seiyuu too... (voice actor).

Q. What kind of year do you want '98 to be?

A. I want it to be a prosperous year. Also, I hope I don't

fall off my bicycle in '98. This year, I fell off a lot.

Q. Lastly, a word for our readers.

A. Thanks to the people who think my manga is interesting.

Sorry for those who think otherwise. From now, I'll be trying

hard to write good stories so please support me.
