About the site & Emi

Site history & inspirations
This site began in August of 1999, after I found Lijaka's (Jill Astley) shoujo manga site and I was amazed that somebody else (not Japanese!) even knew about Ribon. Through Lijaka's page, I found a link to V-chan's Checkmate and I saw that Checkmate wanted volunteers to translate Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne and I thought it would be an interesting experience, so I volunteered ^_^ And that was just the beginning! After I realised that translating was so much fun and I got personal satisfaction of being able to translate something in helping other people to understand manga stories, I thought I would start a site of my own and thus Emi chan's Ribon was born. The title is a pun on the manga, Hime chan's Ribbon by Mizusawa Megumi ^_^
