Chapter 1
The story starts off with Alika as a primary school student, standing at the edge of the rooftop of her school.
She thinks to herself that if she could be born again, she wishes she'd be born in a world with no boys. Then, a boy walks onto the rooftop and sees Alika. He pulls her from the edge and asks what she's doing. Alika tells him not to touch her and glares at him. The boy is a little surprised and wonders if she was subjected to bullying by some boys at school. He tries to comfort her and he tells her that she's a bit young to die and her parents would be sad. Alika then tells him that her parents wouldn't notice because they fight all the time. She starts to cry and says "everyone else is happy, why aren't I?" and bawls. The boy then pats her on the head and says if she can scream that loudly, she must be healthy and she'll live for a hundred years. He says he's envious of that and if people don't live, it's a waste. If she lives for a hundred years, her future will definitely be bright. He promises her that she'll be happy and everything will be okay. Alika sees his name tag and reads his name as "Fujino Kazuki".
That flashback was a dream and Alika, now a junior high school student, is woken up by her brother, Masumi. She was crying from the dream and Masumi asks what kind of dream she had. Alika feels a little dazed and asks what the time is. It's 8:05 and Alika screams. She's going to be late. Masumi light heartedly asks if she wants him to help her get changed and Alika says yes, then after realising, kicks him in the face.
Alika rushes off to school and her 3rd father (her mother has remarried and this is the 3rd time) is eating breakfast. Masumi is eating as well and the father says that Masumi should go to school soon as well. Masumi says "you should go to work too" and his father asks to call him "father". Masumis tells his father that he doesn't want to call a guy who looks like a senior high student, "father". The father is a little dissappointed ^^;
Alika's high school is called "Kaisei Girls Junior High School" and ever since that incident where she tried to commit suicide, she's been happy because her school has no boys! She just makes it on time to school and her friend Mitsuko, also president of the student council, scolds her. Alika is the vice-pres and she shouldn't be late to school. They talk for a while and Alika wonders why she got chosen as vice. Mitsuko says it's probably because of appearances. All the student council members have been pretty. Mitsuko then mentions that Alika is pretty popular at school and even among boys. She says she showed Alika's photo to some friends from "Kaisei Boys Junior High School" (the sibling school to their all girls' school) and Alika was extremely popular among the guys. Alika gets upset and says "don't show boys stuff like that!!" and she doesn't want to be popular. Mitsuko asks if Alika has something against boys and Alika says she HATES BOYS. Mitsuko wonders to herself whether Alika got her heart broken terribly or something. Alika chats happily to Mitsuko and Mitsuko comments that Alika doesn't seem to have any worries. After chatting some more, they separate to go to class and Mitsuko reminds her of the meeting after school. Alika says she'll be there. Mitsuko then thinks if she should have mentioned "it"......
Alika is late to the meeting and is scared that Mitsuko will scold her. She's running when she bumps into someone. It's a guy! Alika screams and pushes him away. The door to the meeting room opens and it's another guy! Alika thinks "why are there guys in our meeting room!?" and then sees Mitsuko. Alika finds out that their school is joining with the boys' school because of low student populations. Alika is devastated because she enrolled in this school because there would be no boys. She thinks that some boys from her primary school might enrol and then....
Alika is looking a little upset, so the guy she bumped into who is sitting next to her, asks if she's okay. He puts a hand on her shoulder and Alika gets up and shakes his hand away. The guy asks what's wrong with her, pushing him away before and whatnot. Alika says "don't touch me" and then after realising how scary she sounded, she excuses herself from the meeting and runs away. One of the other girls in the council ask Mitsuko what's the matter with Alika because she seemed really scary. Mitsuko wonders if it was because there was boys there.Alika doesn't know what to do because whenever there are boys around, she turns into the girl she was back then. When she couldn't trust anybody and she thought everyone was her enemy. When she was weak and sad.
Alika talks to Masumi about the schools joining. He knew a rumour about it. Alika is depressed about it and tells him she hates boys. Masumi says he's a boy too, but Alika says a little brother is different. Masumi asks if Alika likes anyone and Alika says "of course not". She thinks about the boy who saved her and think sthat if she did like somebody, it would be him. She still remembers the name on his nametage, "Fujino Kazuki". Then Alika remembers that the guy she pushed away was also called "Kazuki" and wonders if it's a coincidence. She thinks that Mitsuko and the others must have thought she was weird too. Masumi says that she shouldn't worry so much and she should just ignore all the guys. He says she's better when she's happy and cheery. Alika agrees and thinks that she can't lose against them and she doesn't want to return to her old self either.
The next day (?) Alika has to appear in front of the entire school because she's in the student council. Alika is panicking and bawling to Mitsuko when she hears somebody calling her "Alika chan". It's Kazuki, the guy she pushed away. He chats casually to her and Alika ignores him. Kazuki remembers Mitsuko saying that Alika doesn't like boys. He says to Alika that maybe she's too conscious about boys. Alika gets angry at him. Kazuki then says that he never did anything to her so why should she be so horrible to him? He comments that she can talk properly to her girl friends. Alika gets even more annoyed.
They go up to the stage and just as Alika says her name, she sees a guy in the audience who looks like a boy from her primary school. She has a flashback of the boys who bullied her during primary school. She accidentally split some milk on one of the boys and they started to bully her. There's some artwork done by Alika and someone has scribbled "die" on it. There's also ripped notebooks, broken pencils. A teacher asks "Has anybody seen Alika chan's phys. ed. uniform?" and little Alika is so fightened she wants to die. Alika is so frightened by her flashback that she faints. Then she prays to God that maybe she'll meet that boy again who told her everything will be okay and that she'll be happy.
When Alika opens her eyes, she sees a name badge which reads "Fujino" and she lifts her head and sees Kazuki. She doesn't know what is going on, then realises that he's carrying her in his arms. Alika screams and pushes him away (again ^^;). Alika is a little nervous and anxious and asks if his name is "Fujino Kazuki". Kazuki says that his name is read as "Touno", although it's written as "Fujino". Alika then wonders if he was the boy who saved her life....?
