Chapter 4
Kazuki is confused and Alika asks Masumi why he's saying weird things and apologises to Kazuki and walks off with Masumi. They're walking home and Alika is upset at Masumi for being so rude, especially to a senior! Masumi says that he thought Alika was being annoyed by Kazuki hanging around, since Alika doesn't like guys. Alika says that was true, but now it's okay and it's all thanks to Kazuki. She says that Masumi doesn't have to walk her to school any more and apologises for troubling him. Masumi just turns away. Then Alika says "Masumi.. You still remember that we're not blood related". Masumi was actually adopted into Alika's family at the age of 3, after his parents died. His mother was Alika's mother's sister. (so technically they are blood related, but not as brother and sister, more as cousins) Masumi says that he's never thought of Alika as a sister. Upon hearing it, Alika starts to cry. She's sad that Masumi didn't think she was a sister because she thought they had a great brother-sister relationship. She wonders if she wasn't good enough as a sister and why he never saw her as a sister. Masumi says he didn't mean it like that and asks her to stop crying.
Back at school, there's an orientation camp organised and of course, the student council are going. After hearing Makoto's intro on it, they all get excited about going on camp, if they can take fireworks or if they can go swimming at the beach, etc.
Alika is really happy, although if it had been a while ago she would have hated to go on a camp with guys. She's worried about Masumi though.
On the day of the camp, Mitsuko calls Alika and says they get to go on a seprate bus with the teachers. Alika says she knows cos the guys are already there. Mitsuko falls over, surprised that they're at the bus so quickly. The guys are trying to decide who should sit at the very back ^^; Kousuke says he is and Makoto says the president should. Mitsuko asks Alika where they're going to sit as they walk on the bus. Alika is looking annoyed, saying the guys haven't decided yet, so... Kousuke says that they should decide by using "rock, paper, scissors" and the one who wins most out of 10 turns. Makoto says that it should be once only, if he's man enough to do it ^^; Mitsuko notices that Alika is looking very unfriendly. Alika says "I hate guys because they get so worked up about stupid things..." then she smiles coldly at Makoto and Kousuke and ask them to decide on a seat. Makoto and Kousuke wonder why the air sudden felt soooo cold ^^; Alika snaps, even with a smile ^^;
Kazuki laughs, finding it highly amusing. He asks Alika to sit next to him, so Alika sits down, asking if it's really okay. Alika wonders if there could be any possibility that maybe Kazuki likes her. She thinks that it might be a horrible misunderstanding and she thinks to herself how Kazuki can just ask her to sit with him so coolly and whether it's because he's older? ^^;; Kazuki asks, while Alika is deeply in thought about those things, if Masumi is coming. Alika snaps out of her thoughts and says "oh! yes! the weather's great!" ^^; Kazuki is confused. He says that before, Masumi seemed kind of angry and he was wondering how he was doing. Alika says she's sorry about that time and that he was just doing what he thought was right, because she didn't like guys. Kazuki says "oh, I see. He's a very caring brother" Alika says he is. Kazuki then asks if it's not true that they're not blood related. Alika says that is true, and explains to him. Alika's always thought of him as a real brother. Kazuki thinks a little about what Masumi said and then mumbles "but maybe your brother really does like you" and Alika asks what he said. Kazuki says he was just talking to himself. Mitsuko talks to them and while they're talking, she sees Kazuki smiling and laughing. She smiles and thinks to herself that every time she sees him smile or when she talks to him, she's happy. It's not just because he saved her life, but because she's fallen in love with him. She wants to get closer to him so she can be the only girl he'll need.
At camp, Mitsuko tells Alika that she should confess her feelings to Kazuki. Mitsuko says that it's obvious that Alika and Kazuki both feel the same. Alika says it's not obvious and he always treats her somewhat like a child. Mitsuko says he's naturally a person who likes looking after others, but he's especially kind to Alika. But Mitsuko is happy anyway that Alika decided to tell her, so she admits who she likes too. When Alika finds out who it is, she's in shock. Mitsuko likes Makoto!!?!? Alika asks why, because she thought Mitsuko HATED Makot. Mitsuko says at first, she thought he was really annoying, but then she saw "it".... ^^; Alika asks if she saw him without any clothes and Mitsuko says "NOOOO!!!" XD Then she points and says "THAT!" Alika sees Kazuki and Makoto walking towards them. And Makoto isn't wearing any glasses!! (And boy is he.... um... visually pleasing! XD Very droolworthy..) Alika can't believe he's the same person. Mitsuko says that it's almost a fraud that he's that good without glasses. Makoto puts his glasses back on as they start a meeting and Mitsuko begs him not to put his glasses on ^^;; Alika then says bluntly "so you fell for his face?" and Mitsuko giggles. A couple of juniors, including Masumi, walk by. They have to have dinner, then attend a camp fire. Masumi sees Alika talking to Kazuki and frowns. His friend says "hey, that's your sister. It's not fair the student council doesn't have to follow the camp timetables. Masumi says "really..."
Meanwhile, the student councillors are going to have fun with fireworks ^_^
Kousuke bought some for them all. Makoto says
if the teachers found out, the
student council's position would be...." But then Alika cuts him short, saying that the principal told them "be careful with cleaning up after". Nana claps and Mitsuko is amazed that Alika got permission already. They all agree to meet up at 8 at the beach.
Mitsuko and Alika are talking and she asks Alika if they both want to confess their feelings to the objects of their affection that night. Mitsuko says that when she does like someone, she can't stand to just watch them from afar. And Makoto is especially dense, so he'll probably never know unless she tells him. She tells Alika of her plan to split into twos when they have their fireworks thing. Alika is amazed by her bold plans. Alika isn't too sure. Mitsuko runs off to go to the toilet. Alika thinks about what Mitsuko says and she wants Kazuki to know how she feels, even if he doesn't feel the same because either way, she'll still love him.
Just before they're going to the firework thing, a junior comes to the girls' room and asks for Alika. The junior says that Masumi has a fever. Alika goes to see Masumi. She walks into the room and asks if he's okay. She sees if he has a fever and finds out that he was just faking it. Alika gets upset at him and tells him that she's going and he should go back with the others as well. But just as Alika tries to leave, Masumi grabs her arm and tells her not to go. Alika wonders what it is. Masumi says "don't go to Touno. What do you see in that guy?" He says that he likes Alika much more than Touno does. Alika doesn't understand what Masumi's talking about. Masumi says that he's serious about his feelings for Alika.
At the beach, they're thinking how late Alika is. Kazuki thinks about what Masumi said to him before. They keep lighting the fireworks.
Back in the room, Masumi says that since primary school, their parents fought a lot but he didn't care because they weren't his real parents. But Alika was always crying so he thought that he always has to be with her. Since then, he's never thought of Alika as a sister. He's upset, saying that if he knew that she was going to be taken by some guy all of a sudden, he would have said something earlier. Alika gets up, then runs out of the room.
She gets to the beach and only Kazuki is there. He asks if Masumi was okay and there's half of the fireworks left. The others went to buy souveneirs. Alika suddenly cries because she doesn't know what to do now with Masumi. She clings onto Kazuki as she cries. The only one she has feelings for is Kazuki.
