She's so happy all she can do is smile. Her friends are impressed that he's so bold. But Ion actually hasn't replied to his 'request' because she was so embarrassed she ran away. She plans to tell him her feelings that afternoon, but there's one more thing she has to do. She has to get the class rep off her back. The class rep shows them his photos of Ion doing telekenisis, flying in the air, etc. and she panics. Her friends are impressed by the "trick" photography and Ion says it's real. Then, Kiyo chan suggests that maybe when Mikado said "I want you" he meant that he wants her as a replacement for his experiment that burned down with the shed. Ion realises and is sad. The class rep says that Mikado's head is full of science anyway, so he wouldn't be in love with her. Then Mikado comes into the class room and leaves with Ion. They go to the burnt shed and Ion wonders what he wants to say. What Kiyo chan said pops up into her mind and Ion shakes the thought out of her head. Mikado says tells her that his experiment burnt down with the shed so he's sorry he couldn't show her. Ion realises that she's got the experiment, the piece of stone. She's about to tell him that she has it, but Mikado continues to say that it was good in a way because he found out that Ion can use super powers. He says that even though he rejected her club yesterday, he wants his club and her club to merge. Ion is a bit sad that Kiyo chan was right, but then Mikado says that he thought his dream was over, but from now on Ion can be his dream. He smiles at Ion and she wonders if he'll be like that with her all the time. Ion tells him to do her jinx again, then says that like a flower, his dream will grow with her. Mikado comments that Ion is like Psycho Man and Ion is disappointed. Mikado says that she makes him happy when she's around and they both laugh. Meanwhile, the class rep is showing a new girl around (Minase Ai). She notices a sign on a room door which says "Super Powers Investigation and Development Club". Inside the room, Ion, Kiyo chan, Manami, Mikado and other members celebrate the merging of the two clubs. Kiyo chan says that the other members would probably be dorky science freaks. Mikado introduces Ion to the other club members : Toudaiji, Saidou and Minamibe. They are incredibly cheery for science freaks and Ion notices that they're all devoted like Mikado because they have the same eyes. They ask her to demonstrate her powers and Ion agrees. Toudaiji says that he was with Mikado in junior high and the other two joined them at this school. Ion picks up that Toudaiji went to junior high with Mikado and wants to know about Mikado in junior high. Toudaiji says that Mikado hardly ever talked about himself and the only thing he knew was that Miakdo's girlfriend was in the same club. Ion wonders about it, but Toudaiji reassures her that they've broken up and she's gone to another senior high school. Mikado calls Ion over to make some balls float. She concentrates and tries to forget about Mikado's ex. The balls glow and we hear the class rep and Tagosaku comment. They're sitting by the window with a camera. Ion yells at him and Mikado takes the camera away. Mikado throws the film out of the window and Tagosaku leaps out to grab it. Tanemura sensei notes that they are on the third floor of the school building. Tagosaku manages to grab onto the window sill of the second floor. Ion agrees to help, but makes a deal with the class rep to get rid of the photos of her putting out the burning shed. She thinks "Float!" but nothing happens. Mikado tells her to do what she did yesterday and Ion says she is doing the same. They panic as Tagosaku loses his grip. Ion thinks about what she did yesterday and realises about her jinx. She wonders if it made any difference and decides to take her chances. She jumps out just as Tagosaku falls and says her jinx. She grabs Tagosaku in time and is only centimeters from the ground, floating. Everybody comes down and Ion explains about her jinx to Mikado. Everyone wonders if it's true when Mikado says it's a high possibility and explains that it's almost like a reaction for Ion and she's always concentrating when she says her jinx. Everyone claps and understands, including Ion. Mikado is puzzled about why Ion is clapping as well. Ion says she was just risking it and Mikado yells at her. He hugs her and tells her not to do it again. The new girl sees Mikado and says to herself, "I found him! Hourai Mikado." ~ END OF CHAPTER 2 ~
