[Tsukushi is walking and overhears]

Voice : Is it true that Shizuka is coming back from France!?

[Tsukushi turns]

Tsukushi thinks : Mimasaka Akira and Nishikado Soujirou

Soujirou : Yeah. Hey, working class girl.

Tsukushi : STOP CALLING ME THAT!

Soujirou : Ahahaha, well come here and drink.

Tsukushi : Is it okay to drink this in school!?

Soujirou : It's only water, stupid. With just Akira and me there's no women's spirit

around so it's better than nothing.

Tsukushi thinks : This is a weird _________**1

Akira : I see. Well Shizuka's probably a much better woman now huh?

Soujirou : Yeah. My mum was saying that she was chosen to be some Japan National

Airport's Tahiti Campaign girl and her poster's been stuck up everywhere.

Akira : Ohh so that's why Rui's been a bit odd these days.

Tsukushi : Umm what relation is Hanazawa san and this Shizuka san?

Soujirou or Akira : Shizuka is Rui's first love.

Akira : It's ever since he was little. Rui's father's a real strict person.

Soujirou : Even we didn't like going to his house.

He grew up as an only child and he was brought up as the heir very strictly. Rui became

a bit closed in. Even now you can see a little bit of that in him.

Soujirou : Even if we went out to play, he just sat in the corner and never laughed. It was

like... his eyes were dead you know? And even if he did seem well enough, he's suddenly

throw up or something. We sort of couldn't handle it as kids. And that's when Shizuka,

two years older than us, said

(flash back) Shizuka : Rui, let's play. I'll show you my secret place. It's amazing! There's

squirrels in Tokyo!

Soujirou : And little by little she took Rui out.

(flash back of younger Rui and Shizuka smiling)

Soujirou : Shizuka is an amazing woman. She made Rui smile. Rui was even called ____**2

at one point.

Tsukushi monologue : My head hurts. It's like I've been hit with a blunt weapon.

(flash back to lunch with Akira and Soujirou) Soujirou : Eventually, Shizuka left for France

and it was just Rui's unrequited love for her and he didn't get to confess his love either.

But now that she's back, we don't know what'll happen.

Akira : Yeah, it's better to have an older woman.

Soujirou : Akira, that's not the issue!

[they laugh]

Tsukushi monologue : What's wrong with me. There's no strength in my legs.

A girl : [laughs] Hey, isn't that guy good looking?

Another girl : Oh look, he's kissing that poster!

[Tsukushi is standing on the path staring]

[there is a line of posters of the Tahiti promotion with Shizuka on it]

[Rui is standing there kissing the poster]

[Tsukushi stares blankly]

Rui : You again?

Tsukushi : [stammering] Y...You took the words right out of my mouth. If you kiss that,

you'll get a disease! You're strangely in high spirits. Just because your first love is

coming back.

Tsukushi monologue : No... my trembling won't stop..

[Rui stares at her]

Rui : [arms folded] Hey, are you in love with me?

[Tsukushi is stunned]

Tsukushi : [angrily] Who....

**1 - I lost the file so I couldn't figure it out properly, but I know generally what it

means. She's thinking that it's sort of a weird development that she's having lunch with

the guys.

**2 - Same with above. Some kind of 'disease' I guess, where Rui didn't talk or do anything.
