A little chara intro --
 
Sukagawa Manabu - Childhood friends with Fuuko
Kazami Fuuko - Childhood friends with Manabu. She calls him 
'Manabu chan' and likes him. (And 'Sky' is Fuuko's pet budgie!)
Iguchi Yuuko - Nick name, Itt-chan. She is friends with Fuuko.

[Fuuko holds an English book while walking]
Fuuko : 'Clue' um.. a hint, key point? 'Role'? H-huh? 
What was it again?? Oh no! I haven't learnt any of th....
Ahh!?
[Fuuko slips]
[a hand grabs her from behind]
Manabu : What are you doing this early in the morning? (idiot)
Fuuko : Manabu chan... Thanks, you saved me!
Manabu : Hey Fuuko, we're not even exam students yet. What are you
studying for? (We're only in grade 10)
Fuuko : Well, I've got a small test today...
Manabu : You should do those things the night before.
Fuuko : I did!!... but I had a lot to learn and it didn't all fit
in my head. (hmph)
Manabu : .... hey look, it doesn't help if you slip off stairs and
hurt yourself. At least stop reading when you're walking outside.
[Manabu throws Fuuko's book in her face]
Manabu : Well, you're going to be in trouble now because you raised
your rank unreasonably when we had exams for high school.
Fuuko : That's because I really wanted to wear this uniform.
(It's popular for being cute!)
Manabu : Is that the reason?
Fuuko thinks : Actually, it was because I wanted to go to the same
school as Manabu chan.
 
Voice : Manabu-----!!
Guy 1 : Stop showing off!
Guy 2 : Who's that? Your girlfriend?
Fuuko thinks : Girlfriend!!
Manabu : Nothing like that you idiots! (geez)
[Fuuko is disappointed]
Fuuko thinks : Well that was an immediate answer.
[Manabu jumps over the railing to join his friends]
Fuuko : oh! Manabu chan!
[Manabu turns around]
Fuuko : Um... well... [thinks] Lately, Sky doesn't seem to be well.
Fuuko : Err.... [thinks] Can you come visit sometime?
Fuuko : It's nothing... [thinks] I can't say it!
Manabu : Hm? Oh and can you stop saying "Manabu chan"? Call me by my
last name. I'll do the same.
Fuuko : Huh!?
Manabu : Otherwise I won't answer.
Fuuko : Wh..! Manabu chan!?
[Manabu slides down and walks off with his friends]
Fuuko thinks : It's got to be a joke right!? What's he saying all of
a sudden!
 
[Fuuko is standing, shocked]
Itt-chan : Morning Fuuko!
[pops up from behind]
Itt-chan : Are you friends with Sukagawa kun?
Fuuko : Yeah... we're childhood friends.
Itt-chan : What!? Really?
Fuuko : Do you know Manabu chan?
Itt-chan : Yup... we're in the committee.
Fuuko : Oh yeah.
[Itt-chan blushes]
Fuuko : ?
Itt-chan : I confessed my feelings for him the other day!
Fuuko : I see... What----!?
 
[Fuuko is back home, at night]
Fuuko : No way!? This is such a shock!! I didn't want Itt-chan to be 
my rival... (this is pretty bad)
Fuuko monologue : My classmate Itt-chan is really pretty, mature and
has a great personality and is no doubt the perfect girl for any boy.
(Full name = Iguchi Yuuko)
 
(flashback) Itt-chan : I haven't got a reply yet. I've told him to
think about it without hurrying.
 
Fuuko thinks : I wonder what Manabu chan would say. If he got asked
out by a girl like her, he wouldn't feel bad.
Fuuko : Confession huh.. Hey Sky, Itt-chan is very brave isn't she?
[Sky is preening on her notebook]
Fuuko thinks : I can't do it. I can never say those important words
or what I really feel.
Fuuko : Lately, I don't know what Manabu chan is thinking. He said
don't call him by his name... Before I knew everything but I'm
scared that we're going to get further and further apart.
Fuuko thinks : If Itt-chan and Manabu chan were to go out....
Back then was fun. We were always together.
[A flashback of younger Fuuko, Manabu and Sky play together]
Sky : [squawking] Manabu chan. Manabu chan.
[Sky flaps]
Fuuko : Thanks for always listening to me. I love you Sky!
 
[at school]
[in the committee room]
Fuuko : Itt-cha~~~n!! Is it really okay to eat lunch in here?
Itt-chan : Not many people know about here. We use it for the
committee though. It's nice and air conditioned isn't it?
Fuuko : Yeah--
Itt-chan : Fuuko, I forgot to ask you yesterday.. About Sukagawa kun.
You two aren't 'special childhoo friends' or anything?
Fuuko : ... special?
Itt-chan : You know, like on TV or in comics where childhood friends
like each other.
Fuuko : Huh? No, no, definitely not! [thinks] Though I'd like to...
Itt-chan : Really?
Fuuko : Yup!
Itt-chan : That's okay then. I feel at ease now! If it was like that,
we'd be in a love triangle. I was a little worried.
Fuuko : Oh... (er wait.. Darn....)
Itt-chan : We don't want our friendship ruined!
Fuuko : Um.. err
Matsuno note : She's majorly missed her timing to tell Itt-chan.
 
[door opens, Manabu and the two guys from before are there]
Guy 1 : Hm--? Early visitors?
Guy 2 : Oh yeah.
Fuuko thinks : Manabu chan!
Itt-chan thinks : Sukagawa kun!
Guy 1 : Iguchi san, did you come to cool down too?
Itt-chan : Yamanoi kun too? I thought no one knew about here!
Guy2/Yamanoi kun : Didn't you know? Committee members often use it.
itt-chan : Oh, I see.
[Fuuko glances]
Fuuko thinks : It's Manabu chan! I don't see him much at school so
I'm so happy!
 
Yamanoi kun : Hey! An outsider! Are you Iguchi san's friend?
Fuuko : Huh? Oh, I'm Kazami Fuuko.
Itt-chan : Fuuko and Sukagawa kun are childhood friends.
Guys : Ohhh----
Yamanoi kun : Hey, isn't it kinda rare to see childhood friends
together this far? Did you two say you'd go to the same school or
something?
Manabu : It wasn't like that, just coincidence. Right Kazami san?
Fuuko : Y-yeah. [thinks] 'Kazami san'.. It's a bit of a shock. Just
from that one word, I can see the distance between me and Manabu
chan.
Fuuko : Itt-chan, I'm going back to the classroom.
Itt-chan : Fuuko?
[Fuuko leaves]
 
Yamanoi kun : Iguchi san... Does Kazami san have a boyfriend?
Guy 2 : Hey Yamanoi, is it your usual illness? (always the same
when he sees a girl)
Yamanoi kun : What? I just asked, geez. It doesn't mean much...
well maybe a little. Those types are sort of fresh. I thought
maybe those kinds of girls would be okay once in a while.
Guy 2 : Are you serious? How many are you trying to get?
Itt-chan : Yeah! What are you saying?
Yamanoi kun : I get more interest after hearing that.
Manabu : Don't do it.
Yamanoi kun : Manabu?
Manabu : If you're serious, that's fine. But if you're just playing,
then don't do it.
Yamanoi kun : I was only joking.
[Itt-chan thinks]
 
Fuuko : Manabu chan, you idiot!!
[Throws a pillow at the wall]
Fuuko : Calling me 'Kazami san' without knowing my feelings!
[thinks] Now I'm just the same as a stranger.
Fuuko : Wah... Why does it have to be like this~~~~~~~~~!! [cries]
Sky : [squawking] Manabu chan. Manabu chan. Idiot.
 
Fuuko monologue : But I understand a bit. It's not Manabu chan's 
fault. I know there's problems with me for not trying to tell
Manabu chan how I feel.
 
[Fuuko is carrying a box to her apartment, on a non school day]
[Fuuko puts the box down and sits on it]
Fuuko : Phew----! I carried it this far but how am I going to
get up the apartment stairs... (hmm~~~~)
Manabu : What are you doing?
Fuuko : Manabu chan!
Fuuko thinks : Oops! I called him by his name!! (is he going to
ignore me!?)
Fuuko : I bought a TV, but I had trouble carrying it.
Manabu : You carried this all by yourself!?
[Fuuko sighs in relief that Manabu chan didn't ignore her]
Fuuko : Well, if I get the shop to deliver it for me, they
charge me with a fee and it's not that far...
Manabu : .... [sweatdrop] All right, I guess there's no choice.
You owe me.
[Manabu picks up the box]
Fuuko : What!
Fuuko thinks : Manabu chan felt so far away yesterday, but he
feels so close today.
 
[in Fuuko's room]
Manabu : Is it all right here?
Fuuko : Yup, thanks. I can do the rest.
Manabu : It's been a while since I've been here. Hey! Sky, are
you doing all right? How long has it been~~~
Fuuko : 4 years. See! Sky's been a bit lonely!
Sky : [squawking] Idiot.
Manabu : ~~~~~~ You've got great upbringing.
Fuuko : But lately, he doesn't have any energy ------------....
Sky : [squawking] Manabu chan. I like you a lot.
I like you a lot. Manabu chan.
[Fuuko blushes]
Manabu : [walks off] Oops, I had to go grocery shopping.
Fuuko : ---... Manabu chan. Are you going to go out with Itt-chan?
Manabu : That's got nothing to do with you, 'Kazami san'.
[Manabu leaves]
 
Manabu thinks : Don't ask me stuff like that.
Voice : Oh!
[The owner of the voice is Fuuko's mum]
Fuuko's mum : It's been a while Manabu chan. You've grown so much!
Are you well?
Manabu : Yes, thanks.
Fuuko's mum : Did you have to see Fuuko?
Manabu : No, I was just passing...
Fuuko's mum : Oh, that reminds me. I heard about Manabu chan always
getting grades within the top 10? That's great! With our Fuuko, it's
always so much easier to count from the bottom and she's having
trouble-----
Manabu : Er... oh...
Fuuko's mum : She seems to be studying desperately though. Well, she
she said she wanted to get into the same high school as Manabu chan
so she strained hard to get in. [laughs] (Can you please look at her
work some other day?)
Manabu : .... What?
 
[in the morning]
Fuuko : I don't want to go to school todayyy.
Fuuko's mum : Don't say stupid things. You'll be late, hurry up and
get ready.
Fuuko : As I thought... [thinks] Yesterday's brief words hurt me 
a lot.
Fuuko : "That's got nothing to do with you, 'Kazami san'."....huh. 
I guess that's how childhood friends drift away. Don't you think so
Sky?
[Silence]
[Fuuko turns]
Fuuko : Sky? [screaming] SKY!!
 
[at school]
Manabu : What? She's absent today? [thinks] ... It couldn't be 
because of yesterday?
Itt-chan : I was thinking of going to visit Fuuko now, but do you
want to come too? Your houses are close right?
Manabu : Uh.. I'm fine.
Itt-chan : What? Do you have a reason why you don't want to go?
Manabu : Nothing like that, but.
Itt-chan : [giggles] You're not very good at lying, I can tell by
your face. You're actually bothered too right?
Manabu : ...
Itt-chan : Um.. Well, if you don't mind, will you tell me? How you
feel about Fuuko. You really think of her more than as childhood
friends, isn't that right?
Manabu : ... Sorry. I don't really know either.
Itt-chan : .. Sukagawa kun.
 
[at Fuuko's house]
Fuuko's mum : Oh, have you come to visit? Sorry for troubling you
and Manabu chan too. It's pity, but Fuuko isn't fit to see anyone
right now...
Itt-chan : Is she that sick?
Fuuko's mum : No, no, it's not that. Actually.... Her budgie that
she's had for a long time just died this morning and it's quite a
shock to her.
Manabu : Excuse me, can I go in?
Fuuko's mum : Manabu chan?
Itt-chan : Sukagawa kun! Sukagawa kun, what's the matter?
[Fuuko is sitting with Sky in her hands]
Itt-chan : Fuuko...
Fuuko's mum : She's been like that and won't let go.
Manabu : Fuuko.
[Fuuko picks up his voice]
[Fuuko turns around, smiling]
Fuuko : Hey! Manabu chan!!
Manabu : !
Fuuko : You've got nice timing, coming here. I was just thinking.
Manabu chan, do you remember when Sky came?
Manabu : What? Yeah...
Fuuko : He was a lost budgie that fell from the sky. So his name
is Sky.
[flashback of young Fuuko and Manabu at a park when Sky falls in front
of them]
Fuuko : [laughing] It was quite simple naming huh?
[Fuuko trembles]
Fuuko : Sky's really mean. He won't move any more.
[Fuuko cries]
[Manabu hugs her]
Fuuko : Manabu chan, are you going to leave me too? .... I don't
want that. I like you so much. I don't want you to leave...
Fuuko monologue : I'll say it as many times as I can and I'll shout
it as loud as I can. If this is how I can keep someone important
with me, it's so easy.
[Manabu thinks]
Manabu : I'm not going anywhere. I'll be here always, with Fuuko.
[Itt-chan stares]
Fuuko thinks : Manabu chan.
 
Manabu : Sorry Iguchi san, I..
Itt-chan : It's okay. You understood clearly too, right? That you
like Fuuko.
Manabu : No, it's the same as before. I don't really know.
Itt-chan : What? But then... Oh, I see. From now on, no matter what
kind of girl appears, you'll choose Fuuko like you just did.
[Manabu smiles]
 
Fuuko : Manabu chan, that looks really crooked.
Manabu : Fuuko, you too! Don't draw weird things. Today's theme is
"Space".
[Fuuko and Manabu are drawing pictures on the road**]
Fuuko : You know, it's fun to draw once in a while! [thinks] And if
only..
Fuuko : If Sky was here.
Manabu : ... Fuuko.
[A feather falls nearby]
[Fuuko and Manabu both look up]
Fuuko : Oh!
Fuuko monologue : I see.
Fuuko : Look at the beautiful sky.
Fuuko monologue : I'll be with Manabu chan and Sky. Probably now and
forever.

** Drawing on the road - Don't try this at home ^_^;; I don't know 
if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but I'm sure people wouldn't
like it. Little kids usually draw pictures on roads/walls with chalk
or rocks. You could actually get fined for it ^_^;
