Hmmm I'll mention another note at the end, otherwise it'll be a semi

spoiler to this chapter. But I think you might be able to tell too, but

still I'll talk about it ^^

Hehe but Widoshiiku is hilarious in this chapter, as he is in all chapters XD

Oh and I finally got the KKJ artbook and I read in it that for the cover of

the Silk special, Silk is a green dragon and Tanemura sensei's editor or whoever

it is (I'm not quite sure and I can't be bothered checking ^^;) told her that

they thought Silk would be a purply blue colour and she wrote that for her

next story, there's also a dragon so she'll make that one purply blue!! And she

meant Sakataki! ^^ I thought that was an interesting piece of info ^^;

Hmmm... But I haven't seen Hizuki turn into a dragon yet.. I wonder if he can?

And also, the chapter title can also be "It is the Timing of Them Both" but I wasn't

really sure which it was supposed to be. And "the Timing of Them Both" sounds

weirdly awkward to me, but maybe it's just me ^^;

[a while later....]

*gasp* After writing "Jin Eitatsu" I have finally realised something very very very

stupid I have done.... o_O Uhhhh I wrote all names in the order of the Japanese way,

isntead of English. Yes, I'm a fool! *nooooo* So um... I'm sorry! But I'm sure you could

all figure it out. Suomi Kyoko is Kyoko Suomi, Jin Sakataki and Hizuki are Sakataki and Hizuki Jin.

Likewise, Jin Eitatsu is Eitatsu Jin. Ehe... x_x Oops...

Did I do that in the KKJ translations? I have a feeling maybe I did..... o_O;

Chapter 3 -- That is the Timing of Them Both

(Sore ga Futari no Taimingu)

(flashback?) Sakataki: If you can time slip, then I want to go to the day when

the Ryuuzoku was destroyed..!

Kyoko: No!

Staff: ! [thinks] Aha.. Finally Kyoko is aware of her responsiblities as a Time Stranger.

She can not manipulate time that easily for selfish, personal reasons.

Kyoko: [beating up Sakataki] You're 10 years early to say something selfish to *me*!

You're only Sakataki, you're only Sakataki, you're only Sakataki------!

[Staff with a sweatdrop is dissappointed]

[Sakataki is passing out from being beaten up]

[Kyoko stops beating him up]

Kyoko: [thinks] Oh! Waaait a minute! Is this a chance to get rid of fussy Sakataki!?

Text: The Ryuuzoku are not destroyed --> Sakataki and Hizuki don't come to the palace --> They

never become bodyguards.

Kyoko: [thinks in a Flamenco pose] ... Which means I don't have to take that Flamenco

lesson that's scheduled next week!?

[Kyoko grins with her hand on her chin]

Kyoko: Farewell, Carmen.

Kyoko: [acting sweet] I see Sakataki... If you say it that badly, then I understand!

Sakataki: [thinks] (small print) I haven't even said it that much...

Kyoko: [smiling] I will take you! To the day the Ryuuzoku was destroyed!

Tanemura's note: Don't say it that cheerfully

Sakataki: [staring] Oh.... [looking suspicious] Do you hate Flamenco that much?

Kyoko: [feeling a little uneasy] Ohh~~~! I'm insulted!! This is my thanks for your habitual

assisstance to me!

Sakataki: [shocked] Is... Is that why..! How considerate! I am eternally thankful!!

(note: He doesn't really say eternally, but um... oh well....? o_O;)

[Kyoko grins]

Staff: [jumping around] No! No! The power to manipulate time is only supposed to be used to find

other Stones and Strangers, you know!? And you...

Kyoko: So what are you going to do in the past? Are you going to defeat the guys who destroyed your

village!?

Sakataki: No.... I hadn't thought about it that far..

Staff: He he he.... You're ignoring me (heart mark)

[Chokora fishes for chocolate with the Staff]

Sakataki: The day before the village was destroyed, I received a jewel, the village's safety

talisman, from my father who was the chief. The next day, I lost it while I was playing in the forest. The reason why

the village was destroyed, is probably my fault for losing the jewel. If I can, I'd like to find the jewel and

return it to the village...!

Staff: Oi! Oi oi! Wait a minute, you! You can't....

Kyoko: [looking evil and bribery-ey] That jewel could be a God Stone, Staffy!

[Staff takes it into consideration]

[Lights up]

Staff: Well... I guess I'll approve of it!

Kyoko: Yay! Thanks Staffy, you do understand!

(The three of them plus the King and Chokora are standing by the clock)

Staff: Okay Kyoko. Last time, I manipulated time, but this time as a Time Stranger, you must do

that and draw out my power. Repeat what I have told you to say.

[Kyoko looks determined with the staff in both hands]

Kyoko: Roger! Chronos, the God of Time,

[The stone lights up in the staff]

Kyoko: Hear my voice and grant my heart. Open the doors of time! I am Time Stranger Kyoko!!

[Widoshiiku jumps in the window]

Widoshiiku: Yo! (small print) What are you doing?

Kyoko: Gaaaaaaaahhhhhh! Don't come in!!

Chokora: [sitting on top of Widoshiiku's head] Take Chokora too!

Kyoko: Nooooo!!

[Kyoko screams as the doors of time close ^^;]

[The King and the priest from before (?) watches with sweatdrops]

(They arrive at the Ryuuzoku village)

[The whole lot of them suddenly appear and fall]

Kyoko: Aaah!

Sakataki: [with Kyoko in his arms] Do you have any injuries, Princess?

Kyoko: [looking indifferent] Not really.

Chokora: (small print) Really. {<-- I think Chokora's just copying Kyoko ^^}

[Widoshiiku lies there]

Tanemura's note: He fell first on the ground {I think?}

Kyoko: Well, I kinda brought extra things along, but I suppose it's a success huh?

Staff: It seems so. The era looks right... How is it Sakataki?

Sakataki: .....

Kyoko: Sakataki?

Sakataki: E..e..e.. Excuse me for being in a daze... It's just so dearly familiar...

[Sakataki gazes]

[Kyoko watches]

People: They suddenly appeared!!

They must be from the Demon Clan!!

(note: I might use Demon Clan and "Mazoku" in turn, like with Ryuuzoku)

People: Get them!!

[They turn into dragons and surround Sakataki, Kyoko and Hizuki]

Kyoko: Urrrgggh!

Sakataki: [smiling] Takeshiba!!

One of the dragons: Huh? How do you know my name?

Sakataki: You always helped me to train!

[Sakataki is all excited]

Sakataki: Matsukawa and Umeno, too! It's been a while!!

Takeshiba: Are you from the Ryuuzoku...?

Sakataki: Oh come on, it's me, Saka...

[Kyoko hits him on the head]

Sakataki: Princess? (small print) What was that...

[The dragons are confused]

Kyoko: [whispers] You idiot! In this time, a 5 year old Sakataki exists. You'll confuse everyone so

you can't say your name!

Kyoko: [moves quickly] Here! We'll be smart and show our ID!!

[Kyoko has the Royal Family coat of arms]

Kyoko: [smiling] Oh, no, please! We aren't Mazoku! We're on a task from the Royal Palace!

[They all stare at Kyoko]

Kyoko: Hm? How come they all froze?

Sakataki: How do you call that smart!!

[Dragon trembles]

People: They're from the Royal Palace! From the Royal Palace!

Why so sudden!? For what!? (small print) Did anybody hear about it!?

It doesn't matter! Just tell the chief! A celebration! A welcoming! A party!!

(Sakataki sits beside Kyoko, with Widoshiiku on the otherside of her. He has Chokora in his lap)

(They're at a welcoming party)

Kyoko: It.. It seems we're in a bit of trouble. (small print) I want to go find the stone quickly~~

Sakataki: It's probably because yesterday they had the succession ceremony of the jewel so they've

probably already had all this up.

(note: Not entirely sure with the last few words of Sakataki's dialogue)

Widoshiiku: Hey, is this the Ryuuzoku's village? How come??

Kyoko: I time warped here by manipulating time! So in otherwords, this is 11 years ago.

Widoshiiku: [in awe] Wow! (small print) Serious!? (normal print) .... So that means...

If I take home the stuff from this village, I can sell it for heaps more!!

[Widoshiiku runs off]

Kyoko: Hey, whoa, wait! Sakataki! Are you just going to let Widoshiiku go? Sakataki?

[Sakataki is in a daze]

Chokora: Seems useless

[Kyoko looks around]

Kyoko: [thinks] Huh? Come to think of it, Hizuki isn't here.

Voice: The Chief has appeared.

[Sakataki stares]

Chief: Ahh welcome, it is truly an honour. I am the Chief of the Ryuuzoku, Jin Eitatsu.

Kyoko: [thinks] Wow~~~~! So this is Sakataki and Hizuki's father~~! As one would expect of

the Chief of the Ryuuzoku! He looks so strict~~~~!

Kyoko: Hm?

[Sakataki is trembling]

Kyoko monologue: Sakataki. I see... He's holding it all in. You would want to talk about everything

and tell him that he is Sakataki.

Kyoko: Hey Staffy, would it be bad if Sakataki revealed his identity?

Staff: Very very bad.

Chokora: (small print) Stin. Gy.

Sakataki: .....! Excuse me!

Chief: Yes?

Sakataki: Is it wise to entrust the important jewel which is the village's safety talisman to a

small prince? If he happened to lose the jewel, wouldn't it be an extreme danger to the existence of the village?

[People murmur]

Chief: ..... I appreciate your concern, but there is no need to worry.

Sakataki: What?

Chief: That jewel is just a stone. It has no power.

Sakataki: WHAT!?

Chief: That stone is to place pressure upon the successor of the village. If he continues to keep

it, he will maintain the ability to manage things, to be cautious and also endurance.

Kyoko: [thinks] So the reason why the village was destroyed was not because he lost the jewel.

[Sakataki is jumping around happily]

Chief: It is also a test. We can not allow him to take charge of the village, if he can not even

protect a stone.

[Sakataki has a dagger in his head after hearing it]

Chief: Well, even if he can not protect it, I would want him to move forward and to learn from the

mistake, rather than living in regret. I would want him to not run away from unpleasant things and to move

forward while accepting them.

[Sakataki listens, then looks down]

Sakataki: .... If the village was destroyed and only you had survived... What would you do?

Chief: Live!

[Sakataki gazes]

Sakataki: [feeling satsified] Thank you very much.

[Kyoko watches, also a little touched?]

Sakataki: [smiling happily] I feel sooooo much better!!

[Sakataki is carrying Chokora on his back]

Sakataki: I was able to hear my father's intentions which I never knew as a child. This is all

thanks to you, Princess, for bringing me here! Now all I have to do is find the jewel and...

Kyoko: [cutting him short] What are you talking about! The day the Ryuuzoku were destroyed, is this

day, isn't it? There's still 5 hours until midnight... If you go to the forest, you won't be able to return in

time... You can still do something now, you know? Isn't this your chance to protect the village? Beat up the enemies with

your fist!

Sakataki: [teary] Princess...

Kyoko: ..... As if [shouts] I'd say that!!

[Pushes Sakataki]

Kyoko: [angrily] What's up with you! Being so happy!! If you like it here so much, why don't you

just stay here forever!! You're probably bored and fed up with being a spoilt Princess' bodyguard, aren't you!?

Bye bye!!

[Kyoko runs off]

Chokora: Wait! Kyoko! Wait~~!

Kyoko monologue: Sakataki you idiot, idiot, idiot! You've never shown me those expressions before!!

It's strange... Why am I so bothered by it. That idiot. I'd always thought it would be good if he

just left...

[Kyoko looks sad]

Chokora: Lookie Kyoko! (small print) A smooth dumpling crab! {heh? literal translation here ^^;}

Kyoko: Shut up Chokora!! (small print) Why would there be such a crab here!!

[Kyoko realises]

Kyoko: So.. Sorry Chokora..!

Chokora: [looking down].... [cheers up] Do you want to see my paw?

Kyoko: What! Really!?

(small print) Chokora: Want to touch it?

(small print) Kyoko: Sure! Sure!

[A boy comes out from the bushes]

[He looks at Kyoko blankly]

Kyoko monologue: Hm..? I've seen this boy before... Hizuki!? Oooh! He's so cute!

Kyoko: [thinks] He must be about 13 years old! [aloud] Wha.. What are you doing here?

Little Hizuki: .... Nothing...

[He runs off]

Kyoko: Hey! He... didn't seem so sociable. He didn't seem like Hizuki at all...

[There's a small round stone on the ground]

Kyoko: Hm? He left it... Maybe it's Hizuki (13)'s...

(note: Tanemura sensei, to differentiate little Hizuki and Sakataki from the present S and H, has

their age in brackets after their name. So Hizuki (13) is 13 year old Hizuki. Oh duh, seems self explanatory

huh? ^^;)

[A boy comes running out, screaming]

Kyoko: Sakataki (5)!

[A HUGE monster appears behind Kyoko]

[Kyoko screams her lungs out]

[Sakataki hears it from the village]

Sakataki: Princess!?

Chief: What?

Sakataki: Oh, uh... No it was nothing.

Chief: Are you sure you must leave? It is already very late. It will be best to stay the night

here...

Sakataki: [looking very... hmm pleased and satisfied] No. We will go.

[Sakataki bows]

Sakataki monologue: I will live the fate that has fallen on myself. That is what I decided. So I

won't turn back.

I won't turn back on the village I could not save, or the precious people I had to part with. But I

will never forget.

[Chief senses something]

Chief: Sakataki...?

[Sakataki stops as he is walking away and doesn't know what to say]

[There is a huge explosion]

Chief: ! What?

[Sakataki, after thinking, runs away from the scene]

Sakataki monologue: Tomorrow awaits. So I won't turn back....

[Meanwhile, Kyoko is running away from the HUGE monster which is trying to eat the three of them,

Little Sakataki, Kyoko and Chokora]

Kyoko: Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!

Staff: Kyoko! Freeze time and run away!

Kyoko: I don't have that kind of confidence at the moment!! (small print) At least Chokora and

Sakataki (5) run away!

[They run off]

[Feet run in Kyoko's direction and somebody grabs her]

[Sakataki carries Kyoko in his arms]

Sakataki: [slightly grinning] ....dear me. You really are a Princess who I can not take my eyes

off.

Kyoko: [blushes] Sa.. Sakataki

[The stone Kyoko had before glows]

Kyoko: The stone I picked up before is glowing...!!

Sakataki: Kyoko sama, this is..! This is the jewel I lost!!

Kyoko: What!?

Staff: This... It's no mistake! This is one of the God Stones, the "crystal"!! It is reacting to

Sakataki's "self-discipline"... Kyoko! Break the seal on the stone!!

Kyoko: What...?

Staff: The stone is in the state of frozen time! Release it!! I will guide you!!

Kyoko: [closes her eyes] Ah... the words are flowing through into my heart...

Kyoko: As Time Stranger Suomi Kyoko, I command. That evident disciplined heart. Earnest eyes, the

radiance of the crystal... Answer to my mind, and glow!!

[Sakataki is surrounded in light]

Kyoko: Awaken! Crystal Stranger Sakataki!!

[Sakataki is wearing a jacket, similar to Kyoko's and white pants, holding a large staff with a

crystalline thingy at the top]

Hmmm so here is where my talking was supposed to start about the thing I mentioned would be a

semi-spoiler, but I just realised it's not so evident until you read the next chapter so I'll leave it til then

=D

Anyway, Tanemura sensei is really good at making touching scenes, isn't she? KKJ was full of

them... And that scene with Sakataki and his Father, it also reminded me of Kodomo no Omocha. The thing about

"living". And it also reminded me of Eva (uhh which I watch much too much XD) when his father said "don't run

away from unpleasant things" (although in Eva, it's all contemplaty in Shinji's behalf, not his father

saying it, but the theme is still the same). Oh and especially when Sakataki is about to leave and he says "but I'll

never forget".

Sigh. It's so touching. Really, it's just.... I hope the translation was good enough. While I had

to keep reading it over while typing it, I just felt so touched.... and continuous feelings of that is sort of not

good after a while... I got all gooey and sad ^^;;

Anyhow, and also, my mistake... Widoshiiku is more hilarious in the next chapter than this one ^^;;

But oh well...

He's funny in every chapter so does it really matter? XD
